GEEK TV SUPPORT
Good to know: GEEK TV is a player. It does not include, sell or provide any channels, films or series. You add the playlist you already have from your own provider, so questions about what is in your playlist (missing channels, subscription, prices, expiry) are best answered by that provider.
Getting Started
-
An Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K with tvOS 17 or later, an internet connection, and a playlist from your own IPTV provider: either an Xtream Codes login (server address, username and password) or an M3U link.
-
Open GEEK TV and choose your language.
Choose Xtream Codes and enter the server address, username and password your provider gave you, or choose Use an M3U link and enter the link.
Select Sign in. The first load can take up to a minute for large playlists.
Type a name for your profile and choose Continue.
Tip: you can type on the Apple TV keyboard, or use your iPhone or dictation. You can add more than one playlist later in Settings › Playlist & account.
-
Use whichever your provider gave you. Xtream Codes gives you live channels, movies, series and a TV guide when your provider supplies them. An M3U link gives you live channels, grouped by the categories in the file; films, series and a TV guide are not available for M3U playlists.
Sign-in and connection problems
-
Check the server address carefully, including http:// or https:// and the port number (for example :8080), exactly as your provider wrote it.
Check the username and password (they are case-sensitive) and that your subscription has not expired.
Some providers allow only one device at a time. Close GEEK TV on other devices that use the same login and try again.
Run Settings › Playlist & account › Test connection. It checks your internet, your provider's server, your account and expiry, a live channel, a movie file, the TV guide and your download speed, then tells you which part is the problem.
-
It separates problems on your side (Wi-Fi, speed) from problems at your provider (server down, account expired, no data). The test talks only to your own provider and your network; nothing is sent to us. If it points at your provider, contact them. If it says everything checks out and something still fails, email us a screenshot of the result.
-
Open Settings › Playlist & account and choose Refresh now. GEEK TV also refreshes in the background when the saved list is more than a few hours old.
Playback
-
GEEK TV tries Apple's player first and, if the file cannot be opened (MKV files are the usual cause), switches to a built-in VLC engine automatically. If it still cannot play, the screen explains why in plain words.
If your provider allows only one connection, close any other stream and try again.
If the message says the file is unavailable or rejected, the file itself is not being served by your provider; contact them.
Run Test connection to rule out your network.
-
Use Test connection to see your download speed; HD streams need a steady connection, and 4K needs much more.
Use a wired Ethernet connection or move closer to your router if you can.
On older Apple TV models, turn on lighter effects in the settings to keep menus smooth.
While watching, press Up or Down on the remote to choose a different audio track or subtitles.
-
The guide shows what your provider publishes. Some providers send no guide data for some channels, and M3U playlists have no guide in GEEK TV. If other apps show a guide for the same login and GEEK TV does not, email us.
-
Hold Select on a channel, or on a category in the left-hand list, and type the name you prefer. Names are stored per profile on your device (and synced through your iCloud if you turn sync on). Your provider's own names are never changed.
-
Yes. Every screen is available in English and Arabic with full right-to-left layout, and you can choose the language for each profile.
Profiles, Kids mode and parent PIN
-
On Who's watching?, choose Add profile › Kids profile. The first time, you will be asked to create a 4-digit parent PIN. Kids profiles show only the titles a parent has approved, and leaving Kids mode needs the PIN. There is no default PIN.
-
On any PIN screen choose Forgot PIN? and follow the steps to confirm it is you, then choose a new PIN. You can also change the PIN any time in Settings › Parental controls. We cannot see or reset your PIN, because it is stored only on your Apple TV.
iCloud sync and your data
-
If you are signed in to iCloud, GEEK TV can keep your profiles, favourites, custom channel names, watch progress and reminders in step between your own Apple TVs. It never syncs your provider address, username, password or parent PIN. Turn it off in Settings › Playback.
-
Choose Settings › Playlist & account › Sign out to remove the playlist, its saved password and the cached channel list from the Apple TV. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. Synced data in iCloud can be removed under Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage on an Apple device. We hold no data about you. See our Privacy Policy.
